Anytime tickets are the most flexible train tickets you can get. They allow you to travel on any train at any time for your chosen journey. You can even interrupt your journey.
Types of Anytime tickets
Anytime Day Single or Return tickets
Tickets can be used on the date shown on the ticket and until 04:29 the following morning
Anytime Single
Tickets can be used within two days of the date shown on the ticket and until 04:29 the following morning
Anytime Return
Tickets can be used on the date shown on the ticket, or within five days, and return back anytime within one calendar month
Anytime train tickets explained
- Travel at any time of day – including peak times
- Buy tickets up to 12 weeks in advance, right up to just before you travel
- Anytime tickets that show ‘any permitted’ enable you to travel on any train operator at any time
- Anytime tickets that show ‘WMR & LNR only’ are much cheaper than the alternative ‘any permitted’ and allow you to travel on any West Midlands Railway or London Northwestern Railway train
- Break in journey: if you want to, you can break your journey with stops at any number of stations along the way, before boarding a later train to complete your journey
- Some routes have first class Anytime tickets
